Dichroic Glass Jewelry by
Pat Latty

Dichroic glass has more than one color, especially when viewed from different angles or in reflected light. To get this effect, thin layers of metallic oxides, such as titanium, silicon, and magnesium are deposited upon the surface of the glass in a high temperature, vacuum furnace. Pendants and earrings made by Pat shimmer with irridescent colors.

Pat began her experiences with a class in leaded glass art taught at the Art Center 25 years ago! She has continued to be active as a glass artist, instructor and volunteer for the Art Guild, besides being a farm wife and mom. She maintains a studio with a regular schedule of classes at her home outside Burlington.

Woodcrafts by Bill Hookom
Bill is a self-taught woodworker and has really focused on developing his hobby in recent retirement years.  His marquetry trays, various wood inlays which decorate jewelry boxes, and originally designed squirrel & duck sculpture with hidden compartments, show his excellent skills.  Walnut, oak and other native woods are utilized

Iron & Lace, Bentonsport, IA           Stoneware pottery decorated by the umbrels of an Iowa native prairie plant-the Queen Anne's Lace - is the trademark of Iron & Lace artist Betty Printy.  Heartshaped wall pockets, bowls, vases, all carry the logo with blue coloration.  Printy is also a skilled weaver and with her husband Bill, who is a blacksmith, they maintain a shop in Van Buren County.
